web design is stuck in a strange place:

too little content for the screen span,
too much content for the attention span.

my friend’s father is a top tier chef

but he never cooks at home

he says if there’s no money in it, he’d rather stay on the couch than cook at home

this might explain why many t1 designers don’t put much effort into their folios

also another take from me:

in the view of status gaming, a highly polished portfolio is basically a 100% complete bumble profile

it signals desperation

unpopular opinion:

vibe coding tools are making people way more atomized.

everyone’s getting more isolated, and in 5 years, teamwork might sound like some last-century concept.
